Quick download can reveal what Facebook knows about user

19 Oct, 2015

Finding out what information Facebook has gathered on a user is relatively simple, requiring little more than a simple instruction to download data. Users should go to Settings, where there is a link offering to "Download a copy of your Facebook data." Clicking on it brings users to another page where they are walked through the process of creating a personal Facebook archive.
After entering one's password, a Facebook user will then get a link to the archive, sent to a private email account within minutes.
Downloading the personal archive makes accessible all entries made, as well as chats and lists of interests gathered for advertising reasons.
However, it's impossible to say if this is all the information Facebook has gathered on a person.
