Private Educational Institutions' Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) on Thursday directed private educational institutions of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to refund or adjust any increase in fee/fund/charges, already charged from the students. A notification issued by the authority informed the parents of students, whose children are studying in private schools of Islamabad, that all private schools had been directed not to increase any fee in 2015.
In compliance to the above referred notification, it added, any increase in fee/fund/charges, already charged by private schools shall have to be either refunded or adjusted by the managements. It warned that non-compliance with the orders by any private educational institution of ICT, parents may forward their complaints to the in-charge of the Grievances Cell, set up in office of PEIRA.
In addition to the above, it said all private educational institutions, functioning within the territorial jurisdiction of ICT, were also told that their written compliance to PEIRA's notification of September 23, must reach in the office of the authority by October 15. A spokesperson of CA&DD said a special cell had also been constituted in PEIRA on the directives of Minister of State Barrister Usman Ibrahim to ensure compliance of instructions issued by the PEIRA. "The letter has been sent by post, fax and SMS alert to all the private educational institutions in ICT," he added.
