ATC seeks case record against Saad Rafiq

08 Oct, 2015

The Punjab Prosecution Department is asked to present record of a case against Khwaja Saad Rafiq in an anti-terrorism court on October 21, after he was announced a proclaimed offender for repeatedly ignoring court orders. Deputy Prosecutor General Khurram Khan appeared in the court on Wednesday, saying Rafiq and others had staged a rally and a public meeting at the Lohari Gate when the Punjab Chief Minister arrived in 2004.
He said Lohari Police had brought up a case against Rafiq and others for threatening public peace and that the case was still pending before a special anti-terrorism court while witnesses had identified him. The prosecutor said Saad never appeared in the court and he was then declared a proclaimed offender. He defended Saad, saying he was booked on political grounds and he had not been involved in any terror action.
