DCO reviews Muharram security arrangements

DCO Noorul Amin Mengal has directed the officers of concerned district departments to ensure foolproof Muharram arrangements and a joint visit should be carried out at the routes of Muharram processions and majalis to remove all kinds of obstacles and encroachments for smooth and peaceful observance of Muharramul Harram. He stated this while presiding over a meeting to finalise the Muharram security and administrative arrangements.
He stressed upon the implementation of Muharram contingency plan in letter and spirit and said that the concerned departments should extend all-out co-operation with the law enforcement agencies for maintaining peace and religious harmony. He informed that the well equipped District Control Room would work at DCO Office to monitor the Muharram arrangements and similar control room will also set up at tehsil level.
DCO said that the ban on use of loudspeakers should strictly be implemented and no wall chalking should be seen in anywhere in the district. He further said that the CCTV cameras will be installed at all important locations. He directed the assistant commissioners to hold meeting with the license holders of Muharram processions and to ensure settlement of all issues. He said that proper cleanliness and repair of the routes of processions should be completed and the concerned departments should keep close liaison with the organisers of the Muharram programmes.
He urged upon the mobilisation of Peace Committees at district, tehsil and thana level and said regular meetings with the peace committees should be ensured for maintaining religious harmony and brotherhood among all the sects. He directed the Health department's officers to constitute teams for checking the sabeels of water and milk to avoid any chance of poisoning.
