UNDP approves additional funds for SSU in Fata

United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) has approved additional allocation of budget of 1 million Pound Sterling to scale up support budget to the project Strategic Support Unit (SSU) in Fata. According to the approved summary, the additional budget for UNDP Programme Strategic Support Unit has been revised from 1.5 million pound to 2.5 million pound for the fiscal year 2015-16.
This unit will assist the administration of Fata Secretariat to accelerate the efficiency and the effectiveness of the departments and will support them in their capacity building with special focus on the education, health, economic development and its revival for the betterment of tribal people. It will also support to ensure the effective implementation of reconstruction and rehabilitation strategy for TDPs in Fata.
It would be pertinent to mention here that earlier, in a meeting with the UNDP officials, KP Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmed Khan had stressed for the need of additional allocation of funds to ensure the effective implementation of reconstruction and rehabilitation strategy for TDPs in Fata and to accelerate the efficiency and effectiveness of the departments at Fata Secretariat.
