Sale of animals resume after sandstorm

Through untiring efforts and dedication, the maweshi mandi administration with full support of Cantonment Board Malir helped the cattle merchants resume the sales of animals and a large number of people purchased sacrificial animals from Maweshi Mandi Sohrab Goth on Monday.
Unexpected sandstorm and heavy rain in maweshi mandi resulted in a lot of trouble for cattle merchants and buyers as rain water on the temporary roads made it difficult to even walk with ease.
However, within hours the administration made special arrangements to drain the water out of the main pathway with the help of sucking machines provided by Cantonment Board Malir restoring the regular
business of the mandi and a large number of customers flocked the mandi and purchased a record 50,000 animals in a single day.
Rana Imran, Administrator, Maweshi Mandi while lauding his team said that the sudden sandstorm and rain created difficulties but the teams deputed by administration to clear the pathway performed up to the task and situation improved considerably by the night.
He said that the administration worked hard to restore the cleanliness of the mandi also and immediately moved away the dung-dump from the mandi which would have created unbearable smell troubling the visitors.
Talking about the sales trend, the administrator maweshi mandi Rana Imran said that he is expecting a large number of customers today and the number of animals being sold will increment every coming day.
He added that above 225,000 cows; 80,000 goats and sheep; and 2000 camels have been brought into maweshi mandi so far and more than half of the above have been purchased by Karachiites.-PR
