More rains predicted

The Met Office Tuesday forecast more rains with thundershowers for upper parts of the country during next 24 hours It said the current weather system was likely to continue to produce more rains with isolated heavy falls in Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore and Hazara Divisions, besides Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Heavy downpours are also expected in catchment areas of eastern rivers in the country, and generate flood situation in streams, it said, adding that intermittent rains were likely to increase risk of landslides along major roads of Hazara division and Kashmir. The current spell is likely to subside after 24 to 36 hours. Widespread rain with isolated heavy rainfall reported in different parts of the country over the last 36 hours.
In the last 24 hours, chief amounts of rainfall: Bahawalnagar 110 mm, Lahore 105 mm, Okara 100 mm, Bahawalpur 87 mm, Sahiwal 84 mm, Shorkot 66 mm, Sialkot 58 mm, Faisalabad 57 mm, Mangla 46 mm, Chhor 45 mm, Mandi Bahu Din 43 mm, Toba Tak Singh 42 mm, Jhelum and, Gujrat 40 mm each, Kotli and Kasur 38 mm each, Gujranwala 37 mm, Parachinar 35 mm, Murree 33 mm, Sargodha 31 mm, Rawalakot 28 mm and Gari Dopatta 25 mm.
