19 Sep, 2015

President of Pakistan Businessmen and Intellectuals Forum Mian Zahid Hussain has said that trade between India and Pakistan through Wagah, Muzaffarabad and Karachi is not sufficient therefore authorities must consider opening of Khokhrapar. Tensions between Pakistan and India damaged strategic stability but not damaged trade ties, which is laudable, he said. Last year, Indo-Pak official trade was recorded at 2.5 billion dollars, he mentioned.
Pakistan exports to India stood at US 495 million dollars while country's import recorded US 1.86 billion dollars, he said. He said both nuclear countries must realise that war is not an option and prosperity through trade is the best way for both countries.
