Muttahida Qaumi Movement's (MQM) former MPA Saif-ud-din Khalid on Friday narrowly escaped an attack in North Karachi, within the limits of Sir Syed police station. According to details, Khalid was moving towards his office in Orangi Town when at least six persons on three motorcycles resorted to indiscriminate fire on his vehicle at sector 11-A, North Karachi. However, he remained unhurt in the attack, while at least three bullets hit his car.
The police guards responded to the attack, however, the attackers managed to flee from the scene. Khalid was elected from PS-94 after MQM's MPA Raza Haider was gunned down in Nazimabad in August 2010. Another MQM's MPA from the same constituency, Manzar Imam, was also shot dead in Orangi Town in 2013. Soon after the attack, contingents of law enforcers reached the site and collected evidences. Meanwhile, MQM has strongly condemned the attack and demanded of the government to arrest the culprits.
