Reckitt Benckiser Pakistan Limited organised a conference by the name of the GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) Forum as part of its continued medical education programme. The event was attended by leaders in the field of gastroenterology, gynaecology and general medicine, with lectures by Professor Dr Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, Professor of Internal Medicine, Jinnah Hospital in Lahore.
Dr Zafar highlighted new developments in managing GERD. The discussion was based around the recent paper published in the Journal of Pakistan Medical Association (JPMA) which highlighted the importance of Alginate compounds as the first line of treatment for GERD. This unique conference was organised in order to create awareness about advancements in medicine.
