A three-day visit of 20 trainees was held for exposure to leather embroidery in Lahore to learn then new trends, designs and to develop modern brands and prices of different products. The trainers were getting training in Skill Enhancement and Livelihood Initiative Project (III) launched by AHAN in collaboration with UNHCR and Commissionerate of Afghan Refugees. The project has been launched in District Charsadda and Mardan for 300 female and 200 male including 25% (125) Afghan refugees.
The main objectives of the exposure visit was to explore the leather embroidery's market of raw material, enhance the knowledge and skill of trainees, observe and learn new trends in leather embroidery and experience practical examples of successful and sustained brands. On the first day the trainees visited Khadi, Al-Karam, PFDC, Leather Hub, Lime Light, Ego, and Accessorize at MM Alam road, Gulberg and Mall of Lahore. On second day, the trainees visited AHAN head office, Shalmi market and Soodhi leather stitching point at Lahore.
