Lower labour rate '1,000 multinational firms running business in Pakistan'

Federal Secretary for Board of Investment, Prime Minister Office Syed Iftikhar Hussain Babar has said that about 1,000 multi-national companies have been running their business in Pakistan due to lower labour rate and invest-friendly environment. He was addressing a meeting of the provincial secretaries and senior officials at Civil Secretariat Balochistan here on Monday.
He said, "Lower labour rate and cheaper prices of raw material, mutli-national companies have been investing in Pakistan. Federal government has been extending its fully co-operation to the investors." He said the Balochistan government has to adopt investor-friendly policies to attract foreign investment. "The provincial government of Balochistan will have to provide all necessary facilities to investors to get local and foreign investment," he added.
He said that investors and traders could get benefits by investing in different sectors in Balochistan including mines and minerals, fisheries, livestock, and processing of dates and fruits. He said the Board of Investment was ready to provide professional training to the investors to invest in these sectors. He said that law and order situation has been improved in Balochistan adding that now the provincial government should pay attention to get foreign investment in the province.
