QUETTA: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Senator Sirajul Haq Tuesday said his party wanted to implement Islamic system in the country, which would eliminate all social evils, including corruption, from the society.

Pakistan was an Islamic state and being Muslims eradicating corruption from the country was the foremost responsibility of all, he said addressing a press conference here.

JI leaders Liaquat Baloch, Maulana Abdul Haq Hashmi and Dr Ata-ul-Rahman were also present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq hoped that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan would fulfill his pledge made by him in his first post-election victory speech regarding introduction of a governance system in the country on the pattern of State of Madina.
