Minister reviews Knowledge Park project

Provincial Minister for Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that Lahore knowledge park will prove to be a centre of knowledge in the entire region. He said that there will be five state of the art universities, schools, training centres and residential facilities for the faculty members in the knowledge Park. He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting regarding Lahore knowledge Park here on Thursday.
He said that there will also be hostels for male and female students and commercial areas in the knowledge park. Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan told that knowledge park spreading over 800 acre and comprising 40 thousand persons will be such a model community where applied sciences will be promoted on knowledge economy basis.
The minister said that Chief Minister Punjab has declared promotion of education his top priority and during his tenure Punjab will become a role model not only for the country but the entire world. The meeting also approved various necessary amendments in the features of the plan, according to which, the land allocated for roads and green belt will be reduced and educational facilities will be provided there. Similarly, places of solar park and educational institutions have also been change. The meeting also decided that the final lay out of the plan will be submitted to the Chief Minister for approval within next few days.
