Shah demands fuel prices be reduced by Rs 15

23 Aug, 2015

Leader of the opposition in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah said on Saturday that in light of falling oil prices in the international market, fuel prices in the local market should also be reduced by Rs 12-15 per liter. Speaking to journalists at his residence in Sukkur, Shah condemned the attack on MQM leader Rashid Godil terming it an attempt to destabilize the country.
He lauded the character of the Chairman Anti-Corruption Committee and said, since the committee has the same powers as the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) the two entities should not intervene in the committee's operations. It is to mention here that the price of oil in the US slipped below $40 a barrel on Friday for the first time since 2009 amid a growing consensus that cheap crude is here to stay.
