Air Chief meets first ever PAF trekking expedition team

Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Chief of the Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force met the first ever PAF trekking expedition team which crossed the Baltoro glacier to reach the base camp of K-2 mountain. The Air Chief lauded their efforts in highlighting the positive image of the country and also their steadfastness in wake of difficult circumstances.
On the special instructions of Air Chief, PAF organised the expedition to K2 base camp to promote the spirit of adventure and tourism in the country. The PAF team comprising seventeen members including 13 males and four females reached Skardu on August 06, and set out on foot on August 08. The highlight of this expedition was successful hoisting of the national flag at this confluence of the mightiest non-polar glaciers in the world and the throne room of four highest mountains in the world (K2, Broad Peak, G-I and G-II). Every year, hundreds of mountaineers and trekkers arrived in this ruggedly beautiful region to marvel at the awe inspiring beauty of the northern areas of Pakistan.
