Taxpayers are in a state of obscurity as Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) remains unable to issue User ID, Password and Pin Code after lapse of three months. Although the board has announced to launch new 'Registration Module' from July 1, 2015, the same has so far not been introduced, putting the taxpayers in uncertain state.
In this regard, the Karachi Tax Bar Association (KTBA) has raised the issue with the member IT Raana Ahmed, expressing grave concerns over long delay in tax registration and issuance of User ID, Password and Pin Code, etc.
In a letter sent to Raana Ahmed, the association stressed upon her to address the problems on immediate basis. It said that taxpayers were facing unnecessary hardships, due to long delays in tax registration and issuance of User ID, Password and Pin Code, etc.
Furthermore, it said that new 'Registration Module', which was said to be operational from current fiscal year, had not been launched till to date, creating problems for the taxpayers.
The letter said that FBR was also dilly-dallying to settle the jurisdictional issues for provident funds, etc and added that taxpayers were presently handicapped, due to these problems and the board kept mum instead of resolving them.
The KTBA therefore requested the board to take suitable measures to facilitate the taxpayers at maximum level.
