NAP being effectively implemented in Punjab: CM

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that there is no room for terrorism and extremism in the country. He said that National Action Plan is a joint national strategy against terrorists and their facilitators and it is being effectively implemented in Punjab.
He said that police and law enforcement agencies should spare no effort for eliminating the elements involved in terrorism besides their facilitators. He said that all out measures should be taken for the protection of life and property of citizens. He expressed these views while addressing a high level meeting, here Tuesday. The meeting reviewed law and order situation and implementation on National Action Plan while it was also decided to further accelerate the operation against terrorists and their facilitators. The Chief Minister said that National Action Plan reflects determination of the nation to root out terrorism. He said that there is a need for unity and courage to rid the country of the menace of terrorism. He said that the nation has united to completely eradicate terrorism.
The Chief Minister directed that all out measures should be taken for the protection of life and property of citizens. He said that activities of banned organizations should be curbed with full force and the steps under National Action Plan should be continued.
Shahbaz Sharif said that operation Zarb-e-Azb of Pak Army is continuing successfully and enemies of peace and the country are being rooted out. He said that the war against terrorism is aimed at survival of the country and the whole nation is standing shoulder to shoulder with the Pak Army. He said that war against terrorism will continue and the menace of terrorism will be completely eliminated. He said that terrorists and their facilitators will find to place to hide and will be completely rooted out. He said that a new history will be written by defeating terrorism and Pakistan will be made a haven of peace. Shehbaz Sharif said that security arrangements should be further improved and Cabinet Committee on Law and Order should play an active role in this regard. He said that concerned institutions should maintain a close coordination with regard to intelligence sharing.
He directed that the law regarding ban on loudspeaker should be fully implemented and effective implementation of the law regarding wall-chalking and publication and distribution of objectionable material should be ensured. The Chief Minister further directed that indiscriminate action should be taken against banned organizations as well as those providing them financial assistance. Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal, Inspector General Police, Secretary Home and senior officers attended the meeting.
