15 Aug, 2015

All "legitimate" demands of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) would be addressed, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said while talking to a news channel. He said that all political parties including MQM should play their role in the Parliament for greater national interest as people had given them mandate. He said MQM should play its constructive role in the Parliament as it had played for the National Action Plan (NAP), recent Constitutional Amendments and the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Replying to a question, Dar said the PML-n government had no plan to end operation and that it would continue till achievement of all the set targets. He said the operation in Karachi began on the demand of MQM with the consensus of all the political parties which was being conducted without any discrimination.
He said the dialogue was the better way to move forward, adding, the government of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) had resolved PTI's resignation issue through a dialogue and the same would be done over the issue of MQM's resignations. He said the government assigned a responsibility to Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to hold talks with MQM.
The minister said Speaker National Assembly Ayyaz Sadiq had been working independently under the constitution and would follow the legal process over the resignations of MQM's members. He said the country was facing different challenges including security and energy issues, adding the law enforcement agencies were fighting against terrorism and achieved many successes.
