Stay against by-polls in NA-19: SC dismisses petition filed by Omer

The Supreme Court Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by former Member National Assembly Omer Ayub Khan of Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz to get stay order against by-election in NA-19 Haripur in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. Earlier, the Supreme Court had unseated Omar Ayub Khan from the NA-19 and issued directives to the Election Commission of Pakistan to hold by-election in the constituency.
In addition to filing a petition to stay the by-election in NA-19 on August 16, Omer has filed a review petition against the apex court verdict that unseated him form the constituency. Dismissing his plea filed for stay order against the by-election in the constituency on August 16, a three-judge bench led by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali accepted Omar' review petition against the orders for by-election in the NA-19. Hearing was adjourned sine die.
