More rains likely in various parts of country

The Met office here on Monday forecast more rain-thundershower at different places during the next 24 hours. According to sources rain-thundershower is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Mardan, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad and Sahiwal divisions, Islamabad, Fata, Bajaour, Orakzai, Mohmand Agency, GB and Kashmir, besides at isolated places in DG Khan, D I Khan, Zhob and Quetta divisions and Baltistan.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Mianwali 139 mm, Noorpur Thal 55 mm, Kohat 53 mm, Joharabad 43 mm, Balakot 33 mm, Sargodha 29 mm, Chakwal 27.4mm, Muzaffarabad 19mm, Mandibahauddin 17mm, Kotli 15mm, Garhi Dupatta 14mm, Sahiwal 14mm, Faisalabad 14mm, Parachinar 13mm, Shorkot 13mm, Sialkot Cantt 12mm, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Gujranwala 10mm each, in the last 48 hours.
Widespread rain-thundershower also occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab, Fata, Kashmir and GB. Maximum temperature (42 degrees Celsius) was recorded in Nokkundi followed by Dalbandin 41 and Shaheed Benazirabad 40 in the last 48 hours.
"A well marked seasonal low lies over north-west Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Under the influence of this low pressure, monsoon currents are penetrating in upper parts of the country and likely to continue in coming days," Met office said.
