ART FACTS: Pleasing hues of nature

01 Aug, 2015

The canvases that Arif Ansari has painted have unleashed the outcome of his visual imagination and nature's beauty which together resonate the inner souls of the viewers. The reason for his uniqueness lies in the hues that he has chosen for his paintings, which make him distinct from other contemporary watercolour artists.
The pleasing hues of nature unveiled in his paintings radiate the ambiance of the place where they are present. The scenic beauty of the natural theme -the shades of evening, the mist of morning and the shine of sunlight all mesmerise the observer.
He painted reflections of nature in his paintings in a way trying to illustrate the nature in its whole feeling and warmth. His paintings highlighted the proximity of human beings to nature and the engagement of both to each other.
His work showed good perception, understanding and knowledge of watercolour and landscape which he loved to paint, as this medium has its challenges and requires subtle brush work.
Another interesting aspect about his work was the presence of movement in every scene. The clouds are floating, the birds are flying the breeze is blowing and the water is flowing through rocks with a rhythmic sound.
The reflection of trees and sky in flowing water created a fascinated feeling, a desire to visit the place and enjoy the beauty of nature first hand. He balanced the paintings by giving the appropriate breathing space to the compositions and using grey and ash white as a background colour to give depth to the landscapes. He fondly used shades of grey, green and slate colours which have given his paintings an antique look; he created harmony in his compositions with a pinch of red, ochre and blue colour.
This draws the viewer deeper into his work leaving him/her experience the various dimensions of the nature. I think he has validated himself for having skills and talent through his paintings. If he had painted from a standard view point, it would have been injustice to his artistic diversity.
His paintings are an exploration of natural forms, textures and their relation to us. The main focus of his work was foliage, long trees, wide sky and flowing streams. The shrubs and grasses add texture to his compositions adding lively affect along with clouds and birds.
For the last many years he has been participating in a number of exhibitions and his recent solo exhibition showed his skills and talent to all art enthusiasts of the city.
As colours have no boundaries the limitlessness of colour help in portraying his point of view in layers creating new meanings of shades, textures, tones and lines.
The theme of his paintings is constant the lush green scenic views praising the nature in his own way. He skilfully portrayed the beauty of a landscape in few colours. He created scenic impressions with minimum colours artistically. His paintings were a mixture of unintentional blur images reflecting his dreams and observations of nature surrounding our polluted society.
