General Raheel Sharif, Chief of Army Staff, who is on an official visit to Italy, on Tuesday visited Italy's Army Headquarters. The CoAS was presented guard of honour by a smartly turned out contingent of Italian Army. The CoAS met Lieutenant General Danilo ERRICO, Italian Army Chief. During the meeting matters pertaining to military to military relations, enhancing co-operation, defence collaboration and training were discussed.
The Italian Army Chief thanked Pakistan Army for its sacrifices/role in securing the region. The CoAS also met General Claudio GRAZIANO, Italian Chief of Defence Forces (CDF). Regional security and defence collaboration came under discussion. The CoAS said that "Pak Army has lot to offer to other Armies. The CDF Italian Armed Forces appreciated Pak's success and expertise in fighting terrorism. "We see Pakistan Army with respect, admiration," he said. Italian CDF vowed to eliminate terrorism together.
