District administration Tharparkar has set up a control room at Mithi to ensure coordination among different government departments, to share information and receive complaints in case of potential heavy monsoon rains and flooding, said deputy commissioner Khuda Dino Shoro.
In a statement issued by Sindh Information Department here on Friday he said that additional deputy commissioner II has been appointed focal person of the control room that could be contacted at phone numbers 0232261667, 0232261925 and fax number 0232261818 to convey any information regarding flood or emergency situation arising from heavy downpour.
The information may also be conveyed to the deputy commissioner through email dcthar@gmail.com to receive immediate assistance. It is pertinent to mention that different areas of the district Tharparkar received monsoon showers after a dry spell of three years and meteorological department had issued forecast of more heavy rains in the district. All relevant officials at district and tahseel level were also directed to set up control rooms at their respective offices to monitor the potential heavy rains or flood situation, said the statement.
