Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Four ships, Maersk Hartford Heilan Spring, African Avocet and SC Shen Zhen carrying Containers, Coal and Chemicals were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile three more ships Conti Darwin, Aster Bay and Hong Harvest with Containers, Coal and General Cargo arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Monday morning.

A total of eight ships Maersk Hartford, MSC Al-Ghero, Bitumen Queen, Heilan Spring African Avocet, SC Shen Zhen, Aloro and Manuela Bottiglieri are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload containers Bitumen, Coal, Chemicals, Soya been and palm oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 146,990 tonnes, comprising 119,934 tones import cargo and 27,056 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,434 (2,000 TEUs imports and 1,424 TEUs exports) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Two ships Chemicals carrier SC Shen Zhen and Edible Oil carrier Manuela Bottiglieri are expected to sail on Wednesday.

Four ships, Conti Darwin, Hong Harvest, Alster Bay and Gas Amozon carrying Containers, General cargo, Coal and LPG are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-1, PIBT and EVTL Respectively on Wednesday. While two more ships CMA CGM Al-Maviva and SM New York are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
