Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of petitions filed by three alleged abettors of the then President General Pervez Musharraf in a treason case till the last week of September. Deciding an application of General Musharraf against his 'solo trial' in treason case, a three-member special court on November 21, 2014 ordered the federal government to include former prime minister Shaukat Aziz, former minister Zahid Hamid and former chief justice Abdul Hameed Dogar as co-accused in the treason case.
However, in December 2014, the court stopped proceedings against General Musharraf after these alleged abettors challenged the order in the IHC. On Tuesday, an IHC division bench comprising Justice Noorul Haq N. Qureshi and Justice Aamir Farooq resumed the hearing. Faisal Hussain, the counsel for General Musharraf, informed the court that senior counsel Farogh Nasim could not appear because of ailment of his mother. The court asked the counsel for petitioners and respondents to decide a date for the next hearing with mutual consent. Subsequently, the court adjourned hearing till the last week of September.
