Dropbox users can now request files from non-users

06 Jul, 2015

Dropbox users can now send a request to their contacts asking them to share a file, getting around the problem of not being able to get data from people who don't use the file sharing system. The new service does not require those providing the files to be members. Instead, a Dropbox user can simply send a request for a file - whether it be a picture or a text document - to a contact.
The request comes with a link. Once clicked, a prompt will come up asking for files.
The contact need only click on the proper files for them to be passed over to the Dropbox member. No more than 2 gigabytes can be shared at a time.
