A local leader of the Awami National Party (ANP), Dost Muhammad Khan, on Thursday was gunned down by unknown assailants in Utmanzai area of district Charsadda. According to police sources, two gunmen riding on motorcycle opened fire at a local office of the ANP located in Utmanzai bazaar area, resultantly Dost Muhamad Khan alias Khan Baba was killed on the spot.
The attackers managed to flee from the scene. Emergency and security teams reached the spot. Security personnel cordoned off the area and a probe into the incident went underway.
