Special Investigation Unit (SIU) and Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) on Sunday claimed to have arrested two extortionists from Jamshed Quarter area. According to details, they were demanding Rs2 million extortion from a shopkeeper namely Adnan. The accused sent a threatening letter with bullet to the shopkeeper. Their identities have been ascertained as Asif and Shahid, police said.
An FIR 119/2015 was registered at PIB Colony police station. Earlier the arrest accused had collected Rs 1 million each from owners of small industries of Jamshed Quarter area. Police claimed to have recovered two pistols from their possession during the course of action.
