Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police has registered cases against more 1516 persons for holding fake CNIC in the ongoing crackdown against fake CNIC and its facilitators. According to details the Regional Police Officers and district police officers in the light of the directives of IGP issued to them have further intensified its crackdown against the fake CNIC holders and its attesters and touts.
After authentic reports form NADRA and due verification from special branch those persons involved in the process of making these fake CNICs and who had verified these fake documents were being booked under the relevant laws. In the last one week more cases were registered against 1516 persons for holding fake CNIC, while cases were registered against 960 persons who verified the bogus credentials of CNIC and 26 persons were booked who worked as touts/agents of NADRA. In Peshawar region 802, Mardan 460, Kohat 49, Malakand 85, Bannu 27, and Hazara 49 and in D.I.Khan region 44 cases were registered.
