"The Punjab government is taking all out steps to provide quality daily use items to the masses on cheaper rates. Providing relief to the common man during the sacred month of Ramazan is the foremost objective of the government," claimed Punjab Food and Agriculture Minister Bilal Yaseen during a surprise visit on Saturday of Ramazan bazaars being set up by the government in different areas of the province.
Minister Yaseen, who is also the Price Control Committee Chairman, claimed, "The provincial government, in collaboration with the districts administration, is ensuring provision of daily use items to the public on government prescribed rates. The situation is under control and the public is also satisfied with the items being provided in these bazaars. The subsidy announced under the Ramazan package will only be spent for the betterment of the faithful and the masses and no corruption in it will be tolerated."
He also told the district administration to ensure rate lists at prominent places in the bazaars. In another related report, Punjab Minister for Agriculture Doctor Farrukh Javed visited the bazaars of Pattoki and Bhai Pheru on Saturday and inspected the quality and prices of fruits, vegetables, meat and eatables in green channel shops and told the administration to provide air cooler and shopping trolleys for consumers.
