World Anti-Dengue Day observed in Faisalabad

World Anti-Dengue Day was observed throughout the district with the commitment to continue wage a war against dengue for getting rid of this fatal disease. In this connection an awareness walk was held to mark the day which was led by DCO Noorul Amin Mengal and MPAs Dr Najma Afzal and Surriaya Nasim. Walk started from Zila Council and culminated on the same place after passing through Katcheri Chowk and Circular Road.
EDO Health Dr Waqar Sadiq, DO Health Dr Nawazish Goraya, District Co-ordinator Dengue Dr Bilal, officers and staff of different departments and citizens belonging to different walks of life participated in the walk. The participants of walk were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans to highlight the precautionary and preventive measures against dengue.
Expressing his views, DCO Noorual Amin Mengal said that in the light of directives of the CM Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, the anti-dengue campaign would continue with more vigour and determination, so that this movement of emergent importance could be made more affective and result-oriented for ensuring complete eradication dengue problem and getting rid of it. The DCO said that dengue is the common problem for all of us, which requires the strict feelings and reaction. He urged upon the people to act upon the preventive measures with a great sense of seriousness and should adopt the habit of putting on full sleeve garments.
MPAs Dr Najma Afzal and Begum Surraiya Naseem, while addressing the participants of the walk, said that chief minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif had taken the steps on war-footing during the previous years to wipe-out the dengue, due to which encouraging results were achieved. They expressed their determination that the war against dengue would continue until its complete eradication.
