KP Budget: 10 percent increase in salaries, 25 percent in medical allowance

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday announced 10 percent increase in salaries and pension and 25 percent in medical allowances for government employees in the budget for fiscal year 2015-16. According to the budget documents, the 2011 and 2012 adhoc relief allowances has been merged in the basic pay, besides 10 percent increase in salaries and pension and 25 percent in the medical allowance of the government employees.
The document further revealed that the allowances of Science and Technology and PhD have been increased from existing Rs 7500 and Rs 2250 respectively to 10000 per month. The government in the current financial year has upgraded about 16000 clerical staff. In this budget, the provincial government has decided to give a comprehensive relief package from July 1 2015 according to which the Provincial Civil Servants and salaries of the government employees and pension are being enhanced. It was also announced two pay scale up gradation to employees of BPS-1 to five and one pay scale to the employee of BPS 6 to 15. During the budget speech, Finance Minister Muzaffar Said disclosed that a committee under Secretary Finance is being constituted that would submit recommendations of the salaries of the government officers of grade 17 and above within six months.
