Punjab Assembly condemns Modi's statement

Punjab Assembly in its 15th session on Wednesday passed a resolution tabled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MPA Mian Aslam Iqbal condemning the statement of Indian Prime Minister Narinder Modi. The resolution demanded that the Indian role in creation of Bangladesh should be challenged internationally. It asked the government to take opposition into confidence and evolve an effective strategy against nefarious Indian designs.
The Punjab Assembly also passed a resolution to condemn the killings of Muslims in Myanmar. The resolution criticised the silence of international agencies over the atrocities in Myanmar. It asked the government to raise the issue at an international level. 'The Punjab Institute of Quran and Seerat Studies (Amendment) Ordinance 2015' was also laid before the house. In addition, two bills; 'The University of Jhang Bill 2015' and 'The University of Sahiwal Bill 2015' were passed by the house.
Answering queries, Minister S&GD Ali Asghar Manda, informed the house that the Punjab government purchased a helicopter with the cost of Rs 206 million in 2003-04. He said that there were total 171 government residences in GOR-1, 11 of these were kept for ministers while 113 were allocated to bureaucrats.
