Unparliamentary conduct of some parliamentarians

07 Jun, 2015

Some parliamentarians from Sindh have reportedly maltreated flight supervisor of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) for not delaying the flight PK-319. According to sources, PIA officials were informed that some parliamentarians were travelling from flight PK 319 on June 5, 2015. The flight, PK-319, was scheduled to leave Islamabad airport at around 2200 hours for Karachi.
Consequently, boarding passes for these parliamentarians were generated and PIA staff held them in their possession till 2155 hours. However, some of the parliamentarians reported timely while a few did not approach till 2155 hours. Resultantly, PIA staff offloaded the generated boarding cards as they had to depart the flight on time.
Later, these parliamentarians reported at check-in counters at 2205 when the doors of flight PK-319 were about to shut. The flight supervisor, Khalid Iqbal (P No 51152) offered apology to these parliamentarians but his excuse was not accepted and he was shabbily reacted by them. One of them attacked Khalid and ruined his uniform for not obliging the request of delaying the flight for them. Moreover, sources said that seats for parliamentarians were later rebooked as per their demand in PK-301 for June 6, 2015 and a report in this regard was submitted to the concerned authority.
