Trade Development Authority of Pakistan's (TDAP) chief executive S M Muneer has urged the Canadian investors to enter into joint ventures with their Pakistani counterparts in different sectors, including energy, textile, agriculture, dairy, marble, etc. He was speaking at a meeting of Canada-Pakistan Business Council. It was attended, among others, by Prime Minister of Ontario Kathleen Wynne, Pakistan's Consul-General in Canada Asghar Ali Golo, Canada-Pakistan Business Council's president Sameer Dosal, United Business Group's (Canada) chairman Naveed Bukhari, Toronto Leasing and Management's president Aftab Rizvi, Trivision Branded and Telecom's president Qamar Siddiqui, SM Javed.
Emphasising the need for further improvement in trade relations between Pakistan and Canada, S M Muneer, who is also patron-in-chief of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI), said that the goal could be achieved by entering into joint ventures, exchange of trade delegations, businessmen' visits, better travelling facilities as well as by holding exhibitions in both Pakistan and Canada.
Urging the Canadian investors to take advantage of the best investment opportunities being offered by Pakistan, he said that measures taken by both the civilian and army leadership for the maintenance of law and order situation in the country had started yielding positive results. On this occasion, he also pointed out that thousands of armed force's personnel and civilians had sacrificed their lives, while the country had suffered billions of dollars in the war on terror over the past few years.
