PWS SGH facilitates 687 cancer, 102 thalassemia patients

The Patients Welfare Society Sir Ganga Ram Hospital is striving hard to provide healthcare facilities to the poor and deserving patients with the financial assistance of philanthropists. The Society had provided treatment facilities to 806 patients during 2014, whereas in the first five months of 2015 PWS has so far accommodated 687 cancer patients and 102 patients of thalassemia.
The Society not only provides medicines to the poor but also participates in providing medical equipment and machinery with the collaboration of different organisations and philanthropists. It has provided eight dialysis machines to the dialysis unit of the hospital donated by the Habib Bank. Up to 11 air conditioners installed in eye operation theatres with the collaboration of Orient. A donor has provided Rs 2.4 million for the purchase of anesthesia machine. The equipment and machinery donated by philanthropists during 2014-15 included six wheel chairs, three heavy duty nebulizers, one cardiac monitor, eight dialysis machines, 16 patients shifting trollies, 20 dialysis machine filters, two incubators, two heavy duty sucker machines, 36 I.V stands, five BP apparatus, 52 patients beds, nine air conditioners of 1.5 ton, five AC of two ton, one ECG machine and 20 CCTV cameras with system.
