PU to establish Pak-China Resettlement Centre

The Punjab University Institute of Social and Cultural Studies will establish a "Pak-China Resettlement Centre" in collaboration with the Hohai University in China to expand its international collaboration and academic networks.
Hohai University Public Administration School's Doctor Guoqing Shi and Doctor Yin Jianjun visited the institute where Dean Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences and Director ISCS Professor Dr Zakria Zakar with faculty members including Dr Rubeena Zakar, Rahla Rahat, Dr Ahmed Usman and Ayesha Bugvi welcomed the guests.
The delegation also included senior officials of NESPAK Irfan-ul-Haq and Imran-ul-Haq and Nayyar Abbas from the Water and Power Development Authority. Representatives from both the universities discussed the potential areas of collaboration for conducting joint research and capacity building activities. More specifically the collaborative arrangements will include training of young faculty members, provision of consultancy services and exchange of students. The Chinese professors appreciated and acknowledged the capacity and commitment of ISCS faculty, scientific and developmental work and specialised knowledge and expertise in the areas of resettlement and rehabilitation.
