Acceptance of demands: KBP to hold demonstrations in Punjab

28 May, 2015

The Kisan Board Pakistan has announced to hold demonstrations in every district headquarter of the Punjab to press the government for acceptance of demands. The board has also cancelled a rally scheduled for May 31 in Lahore, warning, "Now a protest movement will be spread across the province."
The decision surfaced in a meeting of the KBP's executive committee with its President Sadiq Khan Khakwani in the chair. KBP's Kisan Raj Movement Chief Coordinator Arsalan Khan Khakwani, Secretary General Malik Muhammad Ramzan Rohari and Vice President Sarfraz Ahmad Khan also attended the meeting.
The meeting also voiced its concern over the payment issue, claiming that farmers had never received proper money against their cotton, sugarcane and rice and now they were again being deprived of their money in the current wheat procurement campaign. "To press the government for acceptance of demands, the board will stage demonstrations in every district headquarter in the Punjab and later to the whole of the country," warned the KBP Executive Committee through a resolution.
