Peshawar-bound Khushhal Khan Khattak Express escaped a major terrorism bid here on Tuesday. "Two passenger cars of the train were derailed after a radio-controlled improvised explosive device (RCIED) blew apart a length of the tracks leaving a three-foot wide crater behind in Umer Kot," officials told newsmen.
According to sources, the derailed bogies were carrying more than 50 passengers. "Fortunately, the accident left only four people injured, who were rushed to nearby hospitals," another official said. Security forces and rescuers reached the site immediately after the accident.
