KP Regional Transport Authority (RTA) has launched crackdown against illegal bus stands here on Tuesday. According to details on the directives of the provincial government, Director RTA Manzoor Ahmad and Secretary RTA Niamatullah Khan along with traffic police conducted raids in different cities, including Charsadda, Nowshera, Sardheri, Umerzai and Sherpao.
The raiding team sealed two illegal bus stands in Tangi and one in Charsadda and 20 vehicles were impounded while 45 persons were arrested for creating interference in official work.
Meanwhile, on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Khan Mehsud, several raids conducted in different parts including Hayatabad, Dalazak Road, Charsadda Road, University Road and Bara Gate and 31 persons were arrested for selling cooking meat in violation of meat-holiday.
