Education Expo 2015 inaugurated: Socio-economic uplift not possible without peace: KP governor

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has categorically stated that socio-economic development is not possible in the country in general and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in particular without ensuring peace in the region, and peace is only possible with provision of proper educational facilities to the people and government is spending huge funds in education sector especially in the Fata.
He stated this while inaugurating the Education Expo 2015 held in Peshawar here on Tuesday. The expo was arranged under the auspices of a media group.
He called upon the public and private academic institutions throughout the country to play their significant role in educating the Fata youth.
He said the government had also increased scholarships of the Fata students and all possible measures are being taken to equip them with better academic knowledge. He said to maintain peace in the country it is necessary to ensure peace in Fata first.
Appreciating the management for arranging such a successful expo, the governor said that such seminars and programmes are very necessary for the development of education and would give much impetuous to share knowledge and wisdom among the students groups. He said the government is doing much to encourage such academic activities.
He further said the role of the academic institutions is also very important and called upon the academic bodies to come forward and give heed to the education of the new generation with better knowledge for ensuring pace and development in Fata as well.
Earlier, the governor cut the ribbon and formally inaugurated the Education Expo 2015. He also visited the stalls arranged by students of the leading universities and academic institutions throughout the country.
Later, he gave away souvenirs to the participants of the expo. The governor was also presented shield by the organisers of the expo. The expo was also attended by vice chancellors of the leading universities, faculty members and a large number of students.
