Karachi police have finally ended Anti-Terror Court's (ATC) siege and allowed former Home Minister of Sindh Zulfiqar Mirza to go home. Mirza has now reached home. Sindh High Court has issued show cause notice to IG Sindh and DIG South for besieging the ATC.
Dr Zulfiqar Mirza appeared before the Anti-Terror Court (ATC) to get his bail extended. Tight security was observed on this occasion. When court staff tried to check Zulfiqar Mirza's companion for security, the latter refused to enter the court and also presented himself for the checking.
After short hearing, court extended Mirza's bail by 30 days. However, his lawyer said that DIG Dr Jamil had refused to receive the bail orders. Police surrounded the ATC and an armoured car was also present outside the court along with police commandos. No one was allowed to enter the court.
ATC has also received the written orders of Zulfiqar Mirza's release from Sindh High Court. Additional Advocate General of Sindh had also assured the court that Mirza will not be arrested.
