President Mamnoon Hussain has directed National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) to improve electricity transmission infrastructure and formulate a comprehensive strategy for acquiring private sector cooperation in this regard. The President said this in a meeting with a delegation of Nepra headed by its Chairman Tariq Sadozai who called on him at Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday.
Chairman Nepra Tariq Sadozai gave a comprehensive briefing to President Mamnoon Hussain on entity's performance and future projects. The President also asked various questions from Nepra officials about the performance of the entity. The President directed to break the network of corrupt elements in the electricity generation and distribution sectors and bring them to book after acquiring solid evidence. Lauding the step of adding electricity to the national grid from sugarcane, the President said departments concerned should be appreciated in that regard. The President also directed for effective measures to provide relief to the consumers.-PR
