Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Lahore Cantonment President, Awais Younas has challenged the Local Government elections on non-party basis being held in the Cantonment areas. The petitioner told the Lahore High Court that the Election Commission of Pakistan announced the elections for 42 cantonments areas of the country.
He complained about the elections, scheduled for April 25, that he claimed are being held on a non-party basis in violation of Article 17 of the Constitution.
