Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: M.V Shan Dong Chong Wen carrying 58,432 tonnes Soya Bean Seeds was allotted berth at Grain & Fertilizer Terminal on Sunday.

Meanwhile three more ships MSC Beijing, MSC Esthi and Meltemi with Containers and Diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

A total of seven ships namely, Uni Florida, APL Minnesota, Phoenix Nereid, Thor Brave, Jouannah Oldendroff, Shan Dong Chong Wen and Freight Margie are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Soya Been Seeds, Palm Kernel and Diesel oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 151,918 tonnes, comprising 108,237 tonnes import cargo and 43,681 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,793 Containers (TEUs), (494 TEUs Imports and 2,299 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.

Container Vessel Uni Florida sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while three more ships APL Minnesota, Jouannah Oldendroff and Thor Brave are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon.

Five ships, MSC Beijing, MSC Esthi, African Puffin, SBI Virgo and Stead Fast carrying Containers, Coal and Palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, PIBT, MW-4 and LCT respectively on Monday, while two more container ships APL Savannah and Maersk Pittsburgh are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
