PTI failed to deliver in KP: Asfandyar

ISLAMABAD: Awami National Party (ANP) chief Asfandyar wali Khan has said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) had badly failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa during its last government and people of the province were disappointed by Imran Khan's leadership.

Imran Khan had been claiming that he would bring change across the country but he was failed to introduce any major change in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, he said talking to a private news channel. He said ground realities were totally different regarding development in the area as being claimed by the PTI chief.

He said PTI was visible just on social and electronic media but not at any other place.

PTI ministers and MPAs had raised their voices against their own chief minister regarding corruption during its government ,adding National Accountability Bureau had started investigation into Billion Trees project, he added.

He said Imran Khan was lying regarding betterment in education sector in the province, adding not a single child was shifted from private school to government school. He alledged that Imran Khan had spent the resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in Punjab for strengthening his party there.

Replying to a question regarding court's verdict against Nawaz Sharif, he said he was against the timing of the verdict and questions were being raised regarding the impartiality and fair general election process. He said the verdict could have been announced after the general election in the country.

Asfandyar Wali Khan said there was no family politics in ANP and that seven universities were established in the province during the government of ANP. The ANP chief questioned that why NAB was not taking action against corrupt elements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

To another question, he said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan had used derogatory language against opponents during sit-ins, adding leader always set example for workers and supporters.

He said he was not against the construction of dams in the country but Bhasha dam should be constructed which had more storage capacity than Kalabagh . Dams should be constructed after developing consensus on them, he added.
