NAB gives 14 years rigorous imprisonment to Shahid Hassan, fines Rs 626mn

ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Court (NAB), Lahore Friday announced 14 years rigorous imprisonment to Shahid Hassan and fined Rs 626.2 million in reference number 35/2005.

The court also sentenced seven years rigorous imprisonment to another accused Zubair Ali Khan with fine of Rs 22.8 million while the accused persons including Majid Rashid was awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment and Rs3.7 million fine, Ulfat Saleem seven years rigorous imprisonment and Rs19.8 million fine, Zakaullah Khan Shinwari seven years rigorous imprisonment and Rs128 million fine and the accused Riffat Shahid Awan was awarded one year rigorous imprisonment and Rs4.5 million fine in the same reference mentioned above. The accused Dr Ghulam Mustafa was exonerated in the case, a press release said.

According to the Bureau here the court in Lahore also awarded five years rigorous imprisonment each to four accused persons and Rs10.76 million fine to Muhammad Azam Chishti, Muhammad Zeeshan Ali,Aamir Shafique and Aamir Abbas Chaudhry while Dr Usman Ghani was exonerated in the reference no 84/2007.

Similarly, the court in reference no 24/2009 awarded one year rigorous imprisonment each to four accused persons including Muhammad Azam Chishti, Muhammad Zeeshan Ali , Aamir Shafique and Aamir Abbas and they were fined Rs 1.196 million.

Moreover, in reference no 44/2007, the court awarded five years rigorous imprisonment to Syed Zuljiba Din Shah and fined him Rs 32.311 million.

Another persons awarded five years rigorous imprisonment in reference no 47/2008 was Muhammad Aamir Nadeem. He was also fined Rs 11.685 million. The court in reference no 63/2008 sentenced five years rigorous imprisonment to Najam-us-Saqib with fine of Rs 16.827 million.
