Labard committed to serve physically-challenged peoples

Lahore Businessmen Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled (Labard) is committed to serve the physically-challenged peoples and making out all efforts to make them active part of the society. These views were expressed by Labard President Muhammad Pervez Malik while addressing at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Labard here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said federal and provincial governments should evolve a doable strategy to solve the issues being faced by the physically-challenged people. He said developed countries were giving special attention to the disabled persons and providing every possible facility to them. "Not only buildings have special ramps but facilities are also being provided at all public places but situation in our country is quite different," he added.
Labard Joint Secretary Saeed Khan said disabled persons could play an important role for the progress and prosperity of the country as they had some special God-gifted abilities, adding that there were a number of examples that disabled persons had done extraordinary jobs.
Speaking on the occasion, LCCI Senior Vice President Nauman Kabir said Labard was a feather in LCCI cap and the LCCI would leave no stone unturned in ensuring proper assistance to the Labard. He said that all the businessmen should at least accommodate one disabled person in his factory or office to curtail the miseries of the society.
