Rangers kill 9 militants, criminals in separate raids

Rangers on Thursday stepped up its operation against terrorists and criminals and claimed to have killed nine militants in targeted raids in different parts of the metropolis. According to Rangers Spokesman, the paramilitary troops on the basis of intelligence reports abut the presence of terrorists, launched action against them in Sohrab Goth's Janjal Goth area.
Finding themselves surrounded by the force, the terrorists opened fire on the raiding teams. In retaliatory fire, four saboteurs were killed. Firearms were seized from their possession during the course of action. The bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.
Separately, Rangers personnel during patrolling in Surjani Town spotted some suspected persons and signalled them to stop. But, they opened gunfire at the paratroopers. The Rangers personnel returned the fire, killing three on the spot. A Rangers man also sustained injuries. The saboteurs were identified as Anwar, Nasrullah and Shiree Raheem. In an armed encounter with the operatives of drug-trafficker Ashok Group in Chanesar Goth, two of the gangsters were killed. The deceased have been identified as Nadir Baloch and Wajahat alias Machhi.
